I have just built up a tarmac pro frame. I am having trouble keeping the specialized seat post from sliding down. I have tightened it to the specifications on the post, but it continues to slide when I ride. I am concerned that if I tighten it further the frame will crack. The guys at the shop where I purchased the frame have said this is a common problem with these posts. Anyone else have this problem, more importantly anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks.

i'm sure you already have this worked out by now but I just saw your post. I have the 06 Tarmac Pro with the wedge clamp and I had teh same problem with slipping / creaking. I took the post out and cleaned it and the clamp with soap & water. But I didnt completely rinse off the soap from the post. after it dried for a couple minutes I reinstalled everything and never had any more problems. cheap & quick fix.
