has been monopolizing my stereo these last few months. I can't get enough of his music.

He was brilliant. Operated on a whole different set of notes and principles. He was avant garde' and cutting edge before those terms became commonplace. If you like classical as well, give a listen to Bartok and Stravinsky. They somehow always seemed to me to be among Monk's parallells in that genre.

I actually knew a guy who named his first born Thelonius. At Berkeley, of course.

i've loved Monk since i was a little dude.
i really dug those shade he wore in the movie-Jazz on a Summers Day.

I've got a Monk poster in my office. I also have had the Brother Thelonious beer. It was delicious.

Gotta love the Monk. I named my boy Thelonious. Thelonious Miles, actually. My other boy is named Enzo Senna.
