Touch0Gray's suggestion that we'd want to avoid hitting anything prompted me to start this thread, looking for things that it's okay and even fun to hit deliberately. It may be a very short list.

Soap bubbles.

Cottonwood seeds.

Sprinkler overspray (on hot days).

When you're hitting a turn at speed, it's fun to ride over the fingers of people who have crashed. ...WARNING...Do not ride over wrists, arms, necks or legs. You will crash.
PS make sure you stand the bike up a little when you do this. If you're leaning a lot, fingers can cause a crash.

No matter what some people might say, I have never ridden over someones neck...on purpose.

I almost hit a squirrel a week ago, on the same path a colleague of mine hit a deer.

The scariest thing I hit was a rattlesnake that was stretched out moving in the middle of the road during a group ride. Scared the living hell out of me!! I didn't see it until the last possible second and swerving wasn't an option, nor had even entered my mind. I hit it with both tires, and luckily, I don't think it knew what hit him.

Another time, I was cycling on my own and there was a large rattlesnake just beginning to cross the road, but I veered as far away from him as I could.

I've hit metal objects I've seen at the last second, but didn't have time to react.

I've hit potholes that will buck you like a Bronco.

Gravel and loose dirt is the scariest making a turn or even scary enough going straight, especially with 23 or 25 tires.

Sand. I live in Florida and often ride from Pensacola Beach to Navarre Beach. Sometimes, we get high winds off the Gulf of Mexico and the sand drifts onto the shoulder of the road or even onto the road. I definitely slow down for that!! Sometimes, bucket loaders have to move the sand back onto the beach.

I've also hit roadkill before. It's not the best smelling experience.

Riding around the swan river in perth i run over a white galah, yep straight over the lil tiger, my wheels spat him out and he flew off, he lost some feathers but seemed ok, he def would have benefited from some birdy chiro after that effort

Bill2, outstanding video, they all kinda were captivating in their own special way

Looks like thermal expansion had already become extreme. Better get them out of the sun and heat or they might burst, or maybe melt.

Acorns. Like to try and just nip them so they shoot into the woods or even better ping any armco that happens to be there. Once shot a passing car by accident. Based on the posts above I really need to move to the beach
