Just a thread to post up, and discuss the positive things about life.
I'll start:

  • Beer...any beer. Cheap, expensive, watery, hoppy, brown, yellow, whatever.
  • Biking up hills, and the immense feeling of satsifaction at the top
  • Really good LBS's...not the snobbish ones that seem to be far too common, but the honest-to-goodness, down to earth, really care about you LBS's
  • Seeing wildlife on bike rides
  • My hitch-mounted bike rack that I store in the trunk
  • The bond/frienship/brotherhood that brings strangers together over forums like Teh Lounje
  • A girl who looks awesome in a t-shirt and jeans
  • A nice pair ;)
  • Getting to know the regular customers at work and striking up small quasi-frienships
  • Sticking it to the bad LBS's by building a bike and paying close to, if not less than wholesale
  • Messing with kids and teens on other forums, just to piss 'em off
  • The general satsifaction of a job well done

Air drying after a shower.

2am bike rides with no traffic sans shirt and any general reservations.

Taking a really good dump.

- Cooking dinner and getting asked for seconds
- Doctor saying, "I wish all my patients were like you."
- Co-workers who aren't ego-driven
- All the thriving plants that aren't just surviving, but getting big enough to be re-potted
- New boss asking for a simple favor, preceeded by, "I don't mean to be a micro-manager..." :p

"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens. Brown paper packages tied up with strings . . ."

Not, really. But for some strange reason when I read the title of this thread, Julie Andrews' voice erupted inside my head and I cannot get the tune of "My favorite things out of it now." :cryin:

But, I don't want to hijack the thread, so I will list some things that I like:

Tea poured from a real tea pot into a real cup (i.e., I like tea, but a teabag in a paper cup is not the same as drinking tea out of a real cup sans teabag).

A well-set table.

Practicing law for clients that I like (as opposed to those who are pains in the @ss -- fortunately I have more of the ones that I like).

Spending hours in the law library researching some arcane point of the law.

A bike ride on a day when it is not too hot, not too cold, and the sun is shining.

Planes and trains that leave and arrive on schedule.

What do I like?

That I get up out of my own bed, in my own home, able to eat breakfast, go for a ride if I want to with people I love.

There are so many who have so little. I am blessed and do not need anything more.
