Tire coming off the Bead. HELP ME!

I bought some new Ksyriums this summer to soup up my cross bike a little bit and the front wheel is giving me nothing but problems. First, when I set the tires up for the road the front tire came off the bead in the middle of a couple of my rides. I crossed my fingers and hoped that with lower pressure the problem would be resolved. But for my last two races the same thing has happened in middle of the race. I start to hear a thwup thwup thwup and feel my bike get all jerky up front. Sure enough that pesky front tire has come off and is about to blow. Thankfully i been able to take advantage of some neutral wheels, but it sure has costs me a lot of places. I am running Continental Twister Pros at about 40 psi.

So, if anyone has any advice on how I can fix this it would be much appreciated.

Unfortunately it might be an issue with the Mavic rim Conti bead combination, may have to switch tires. First though, try building up the bed of the rim (center section) with some tape or rim strip, this'll make the tires tighter on the rim (harder to install) and may help.

Yeah, I thought about it being a problem with the combo of mavic and conti. My road tires that came off was a conti too and i raced once with a Michelin and had no problem.

Thanks for the advice.

Tire help

I don't know what to tell you, I'm having the same problem with older Ksyrium SLs. I've had to run in the last two races. I think I had a loose valve core on one, that I didn't know was removable because I'm stupid like that. That led to low pressure which didn't help when I stuck a pedal in the ground and ended up smacking the wheel hard laterally. Short story long here are the two resulting pictures of my tires. I had some extra seam grip left in a tube and decided to do a half ass repair on the Grifo, surprisingly the tire now seats well and stays put up to 120psi. I haven't ridden it though.

Our shop had four Twister Pro's come back last year with blown beads - and they weren't mounted on Mavics. We sent them all back for warranty credit. Not sure if the Twisters were improved or changed for this year - we didn't bring them in.

I've had a similar issue is the past with my Ksyrium wheels and Schwalbe clinchers. I corrected the issue by changing to another tire brand. Havent had any problems since.

Is the tire too loose on the rim? If it is, don't ever use that tire again (or that brand/model) on that rim. It's not worth it and can really cause you harm.

Please tell me you won't ride that "repaired" tire Saturday.
No, no, no. That was just a stupid experiment on my part because I had just a pinch of seam grip left, enough to get two coats on just that section. It won't even get ridden down the street. It gets hung up on my wall of shame. The tire did bulge at that spot until I put the sealer on it and now does not though.

I have a wife and two young children that would like to see me come home with no more than 7 holes in my body (you can count them in your head).

Might just be a POS tire. I have a Ritchey ZMax (MTB) tire that refuses to stay on my Mavic x717 rim. Not sure what the problem is, but it seems like the bead is either busted somewhere, the bead is incompatible (unlikely, since the front works fine), or the tire was built out of compliance.
