Recently my Serfas Seca RS tires got worn through and at the suggestion of an lbs I replaced them with Specialized all condition Armadillos. After a few rides it is clear that these tires have a much higher rolling resistance and of course are heavier. Going both up and down my favorite hills I'm seeing 2 mph difference between the two. Went for my usual 27 mile loop today and it took 15 minutes longer than usual. I noticed that when I get out of the saddle it feels like I have a flat or the brakes are rubbing.

Anyway, what is a good rolling low resistance tire that has a decent durability and ride?

Conti 4000s if you want something fast and durable.
Nothing else out there that does both.
I don't know if I agree with you. I've run Continental Grand Prix's for three years now and I find them quite fast and durable, and good in the rain even. I also ran Kenda Konstrictors and liked them - great price on those!

Conclusion!

Well, I bought the Vitt open Corsas 320 tpi. I took them on their maiden run today and ended up doing my first century! They roll so great it feels like I was cheating. Ran through a lot road debris, rocks, glass, etc... but they held up just fine. I'm very impressed and if they stay this good and I end up getting 2500 - 3000 miles then I've got myself a new tire. So far, well worth the price!!!!

That would be your legs, not the tyres. There's no way the tyre is accounting for such a difference.*

As for recommendations. I recently started using Vittoria Open Pavés. Love 'em.

*Unless you're doing 100mph - Then I'll give you the 2% difference. ;) :D

Why not just stick some Serfas tires back on.
Can't beat the price.

He did. 100 miles. ;-)

I love these tires, but they last, for me, about 500 miles tops. I've used them up, essentially, in one long ride. Not so much wearing down to the cords, but I always get them cut up long before the rubber wears through, or I get tired of repairing so many flats pull them off.
