I have a 2007 Trek 1500. It has Bontrager Select rims and tires. What type of tires are these? Tubes or Clinchers? I had a mishap on my back tire and need to replace it. I'm going to upgrade both tires at this time because I hear the Bontrager Select tires aren't the greatest. Do I need a Clincher or Tube tire? Thanks much.

Most likely it's a clincher. If the tire is round and sewn-up, it's a tubular (the name comes from the shape). If it's a semi-circle, it's a clincher - the sides clinch onto the wheels.

Bontrager Select tires are fine for training.
Would you put $200/ea tires on a car that is valued at $4000? (some people might)
