This is the first time I've used a bike as an adult to run any kind of errand not involving the car.

1130 departure for the library that opens at noon. It's less than 10 minutes away. I take off and make my way there.

<a href="https://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i57/mynamesrob/?action=view&current=IMG_3739.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i57/mynamesrob/IMG_3739.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I'm not that fast; the camera leaned over on it's stand. I took a Gorilla Pod and just wrapped it around the handlebars and clicked the magic button whenever I felt like the time was right.

<a href="https://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i57/mynamesrob/?action=view&current=IMG_3743.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i57/mynamesrob/IMG_3743.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

<a href="https://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i57/mynamesrob/?action=view&current=IMG_3745.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i57/mynamesrob/IMG_3745.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Sweet. 20 minutes early. Now what... A quick ride around a new neighborhood? Sure... No pics for that one.

<a href="https://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i57/mynamesrob/?action=view&current=IMG_3746.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i57/mynamesrob/IMG_3746.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

A quick stop at Quizzno's for some water and that is one beautiful bike!

<a href="https://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i57/mynamesrob/?action=view&current=IMG_3748.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i57/mynamesrob/IMG_3748.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

The golden link.

Epic fail.....the library does not open until 1PM. Perfect.... Take it back to the house! The snow is starting to come down in more of a rain form anyways.

On a separate note, the bike rides awesome and I am very satisfied with the money spent. The bar end shifters are a lot of fun and I do not think I'll upgrade them for some time to come. Maybe a WTB Dirt Drop bar in my future though? I've read they don't accommodate bar end shifters so more research to come.

In this case it was certainly about the journey, not the destination :) Congrats on your new steed.

Ha ha. Hey now! I INSTANTLY learned upon pedaling that a messenger bag is not for me! I could not get comfortable with it. So instead of keeping all the weight in there, I scuttled it.

But this brings up a good question, what do you all do with your lock if you carry one?

seat post clamp-on straight rack from Performance (no sides). Stuff sack and bungee cargo netting. Stays with me on doubles and brevets and winter training rides.

Different from my touring bike with four panniers but it works for a jacket, lock, and loaf of bread.

Bummer about the library being closed, but congratulations on using your bike for transporation. By the way, I like the crooked picture- it`s the best one of the bunch!
