What is the fastest you have gone on you bike? I did 44 mph on a downhill just this morning. Bike felt fine but I know if something happened I was done. 44 in car feels like you are not even moving.. On a bike,,,, wow....

I've gone over 50 on my road bike and 65 on my GPV (Gravity Powered Vehicle) and over 70 on a street luge. I crashed a street luge three summers ago @ 55 mph. I'll dig up the pixxors of the aftermath.

Carbon fiber is clearly the best material out there. Steel and aluminum stink.

But, carbon fiber will at times explode without warning.

My average speed is 33mph on my recovery days.

Pumping your tires to 150psi is a great idea. You'll go much faster.

Taking 30 grams off the bike will make you a much faster rider.

No, the pros never dope.

Never, ever wave to other cyclists.

There you go. All of your future questions have been answered.

It does seem to be a topic that keeps coming up.

55 mph downhill

Carefull, motorcycle spedometers are notoriously inaccurate. Almost always 5-10% on the high side. Usually closer to 10%.
