Signed up to ride the Tour of the Napa Valley (100 miles) on August 18th. I haven't done that century and haven't done A century in a while and I am interested to know what I am getting in to.

How are the climbs? support? etc. Also does anyone know what sports drink they provide - gatorade? I am sure I can email them but I figured there must be some veterans of the tour here with first hand ride experience.

Any help would be appreicated. Fred

Excellent support. Not Gatorade, as I recall, but some kind of sports drink. Route starts with a good climb up Mt. Veeder *1400') at about 450ft per mile for a mile in the steep part...then across the Valley, then up past Conn Dam for another easier climb, the on the way home you get the Ink Grade, which is about 5 miles at 350ft per mile. Lovely people, lovely scenery. YOu should have a lot of fun.

If I am around I do this ride--since I live here,
