The Northeast has been blessed with a mild winter and nature has responded. Robins showed up in our back yard several weeks ahead of schedule; bulbs are pushing up their shoots and, of course, the crocus are up for us. More southerly RBR'ers have seen these for some time now, but it's an opportunity for a short ride report. These signs of Spring were seen on my commute, one day last week.

I'll post traditional signs first. (I included as much cycling content as was reasonable.)

Early forsythia and the Street Dog with its new red trim and tires.

Traditional Signs of Spring, continued...

A patch of Iris just getting started, followed by a formal bed of tulips.

More traditional Signs...

Little blue flowers (anyone know what they're called?) and early daffodils. You can see the dead chrysanthemums from last year that the garden club hasn't yet removed; another sign of an early spring!

Non-Traditional Signs...

The first golf carts of Spring! Picnic tables emerge from their long winter's nap in the storage yard.

Non-Traditional, concluded...

You really know its Spring in New Jersey when the primary election signs come out of hiding. An office tribute to welcome the new season...
