My dog ate the outside of a baseball once. When I saw the string sticking out of his pooper, and dragging on the ground, I stepped on it and it came out like those old Evil Kneivel toy ripcords.
I’m pretty sure that’s the definition of love...

Lance Armstrong rode a Trek and won lots of those French bike races, so they must be good and fast bikes...especially the red ones!

Funny you should say that, a Fred of mine purchased a Trek for that very reason. But I guess that's how marketing works, isn't it?

My first truly nice bike was a 1978 Trek 510 with a Campy Gran Sport group. I've toured all over the US and western Europe on Trek touring bikes and ride a Domane as my favored bike these days.

That being said, I used to be the warranty manager at Klein Bicycles before Trek bought us out and for a few yeas after that, so I have also seen the worst of their corporate culture. It doesn't stop me from buying their bikes, but I don't have to like the Burke family...

I don't have a pic handy, but I'll never get rid of the 930 mountain bike I bought with high school graduation money in the summer of '93. It's a Made in America True Temper frame and still in good shape. About all that is left from when it rolled off the LBS floor is the frame and fork. Everything else has been upgraded as I wore parts out.

...and now I hate them for that same reason.

(I know it's irrational, but it just rubs me the wrong way. Same with those yellow wrist bands.)
