TCT = Taiwan Carbon Technology. Nothing wrong with the stuff, it's just that the OCLV
carbon is a higher quality grade and it has levels of quality also,such as:
OCLV white (1st level), OCLV black, and OCLV red (highest grade).
{ TCT, officialy, is TREK CARBON TECHNOLOGY. }

Is the TCT carbon inferior to the OCLV carbon regarding stiffness or is it primarily about weight.
How does the Trek TCT carbon compare to other bikes in the $2000 price range?
From the information I could find on TCT carbon (and it's not a lot), all indications are that it's primarily stiffness to weight. An OCLV bike is going to weigh less and be stiffer, but I've found ride characteristics to be similar.

IMO, in the $2,000 price range there are better choices, but the 4.5 is the better value between it and the 4.7.
