I have two sets of Ksyrium SL3s and was wondering if, to convert them to tubeless, I had to buy a Stan's rim strip or just a tubeless valve-stem? They do not have spoke holes so shouldn't a tubeless valve-stem do the job? All I have on my Crossmax are valvestems and non-ust tires (Panaracer Fire-XC) that are set up tubeless (Stan's sealant sealed them up great!). Is it the same concept? Can you use non-tubeless tires with stans on road?

I made the conversion last year and only used the special valve stems and a little Stan's sealant. Absoulutely no issues. I used the Stan's rim strip in some DT rims (due to spoke holes) and have had a similar positive experience. No need to have the special tubeless rims in my opinion....

Do the Ksyriums have an open pro rim? If so... I have heard bad things about running tubeless on them. That's the one rim the kit doesn't seem to be friendly with. But, I could be wrong, or it could work just fine.
