I just returned from a two week Italy trip, including a week in Tuscany where I had the pleasure to ride six days straight. Here's a brief report (5 of 6 rides are up on motionbased.com, here's a link to one: http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/5932932 ). First off, Tuscany is a roadie's dream- lot's of empty, beautiful rolling roads and cyclist aware drivers. We were based at a sweet villa, and rode about 30 miles each morning while the rest of our group was sleeping in. (We were on a group trip with our Vespa scooter club, and spent most days riding Vespas around to various cool places, but that's a different trip report!) We rented biked from DF Bikes in Siena (http://www.dfbike.it/ ) we had nice Wilier bikes, with triple cranks (nice for the hills and vacationing) and Campy Chorus gruppos, and Francesco even set the bikes up for us to our individual specs (we e mailed our dim's to him beforehand), and delivered them to our villa for 20 euro / day. I strongly recommend DF Bike if your thinking about riding in Toscana, much easier than hauling the bike case around. I also used my Edge 705 for rides. I had to purchase Europe map data, but it worked flawlessly navigating on the bike, the scooter, and even in the car! I had purchased the 705 with this trip in mind, and it performed better than I could have hoped! So there's three endorsements: riding in Tuscany, DF Bike and the Edge 705!

Ciao for now! View attachment 129153
