Need little help. What is the difference in the Ultegra 6600 and 6700? and RD? Will they interchange? A good website telling and describing the difference?

The new 6700 shifters now have the shifter cable routed under the handle bar tape. That is the biggest difference.

You can mix and match Ultegra 6600 and 6700 till your heart is content.

What does the letters stand for i.e. RD?

Kinda what I thought, but thought it was different levels of each. Are there diffetent levels say in a 6600 or 6700? Are the 66 and 67 tell that one is newer than the other?

the higher the #, the newer. IE 6700 is newer than 6600

Not to hijack the thread but what about Ultegra SL? Is that all gone? I don't see it on Shimano's site and getting components looks to be more difficult.

It's a shame really, the color scheme was nice if nothing else.
