What's required to upgrade from Shimano 8-speed to 10-speed?

Can I use a 10 speed cassette on my 8-speed hubs? Do I need 10 speed chainrings? Do I need a new front derailleur? Do I need a new crankset to get the correct chain line?

Thanks.

Cassette will work on an 8-speed HG hub. 9 or 10-speed chainrings will work. Front D should work, though the newer cage designs will probably shift a little better. Crankset chainline is the same.

You need shifters, chainrings, chain, and cassette. New rear D probably wouldn't hurt.

Shifters, chain, cassette. If your 8-speed derailleurs are Dura-Ace you'll need to replace the rear derailleur.
