Can you use a Triple Front Derailluer(Shimano Ultegra) with a Double Crankset by simply adjusting the limit screws? Keep seeing different answers on whether or not a triple FD will work good with a Double Crankset. (54/42/30 to 53/39)

Yes, you can. It takes quite a bit of fiddling and in my experience, it wasn't exactly a "crisp" shift, but the triple FD is serviceable. Still, you could probably find a really cheap Ultegra FD on ebay. IME, the difference was noticeable.
