i'm looking to set up a 36/46 crankset for CX, and i was wondering about the BCD of Veloce UT cranks.

i've recently read that only Centaur and higher spec 10 speed UT Compact cranks have the odd single 112 BCD single bolt behind the crank arm while Veloce UT compact cranks have a standard 110 BCD bolt pattern for all bolts.

this would simplify finding a set of 36/46 rings for my crankset. can anyone confirm this?

the problem...

Even if the bolt hole behind the crankarm was on a 110mm BCD, there would remain the problem that other chainrings are not made to be bolted in from the back side and they aren't made withthe exact thickness to match up with the Campy crankarm.

If you need a replacement ring, you still need to buy a Campy-compatible model.

I think you need to find Veloce compatible rings. According to Stronglight the stamped rings have different dimensions to the machined ones:

Pour Campa carrés coniques (Type A)
Pour Campa Ultra Torque Centaur Carbone - Veloce - Mirage & Fulcrum R (Type B)
Pour Campa Ultra Torque Record - Chorus - Centaur Alu & Fulcrum RS ou RRS (Type C)
