I think he is confused. Vittoria made those tires @ 5 years ago, as clinchers and they were 23s. I had a set. They are little more than Open Corsas with red casings and colored tread.
The tires he's showing on his blog are clinchers.:thumbsup:

plus he retired awhile ago, although considered a comback this yr... and then there's that sansone thing. ~5 yrs ago makes sense, after his 2nd straight lombardia win

veloflex tires all have little Italian flags on 'em, tubular and clincher... not sure if they are in official colors tho

Corrections

Yes, they are clinchers. I didn't realize that Vittoria's "open tubular" language (which is printed on the box) referred to clinchers.

These appear to be new-old-stock that they are trying to sell now as opposed to a new run of tires.
