I spent Saturday exploring Wawa Ontario, mostly by bike.

I started my ride from the visitor centre

Passed the general store

and the motor inn

got to the shore of Wawa Lake

pedaled down the quiet highway

passed this plane

left the blacktop

it was definitely too cold for shorts

passed some old hydro buildings

downhill, woo!

back to the highway, passed an abandoned building.

complete with abandoned bike

ohh, and I built an inuksuk

then I was back to where I started

BONUS Waterfall pic.

Great photos. What a difference from the hustle and bustle around here. I'll bet it was too cold.

Cant wait to see more.

I always heard Wawa was the Indian term for the Canada goose (since it's the sound they make as they fly.) The giant goose in pic 1 would seem to confirm?

And great pix, btw.!

Yup, Wawa takes its name from the Ojibwe word for "wild goose", wewe.
