I think we will have 18 cars tomorrow running in the track day.

From the guys that we had dinner with, I know that there will be the following running tomorrow.
Ferrari 308 GTS
Ferrari 328 GTS
Ferrari 550 Maranello
Porsche 911 Turbo
BMW M3

I am pretty sure we will have a couple 355's and 360's and likely a 512 or a TR. Anyone who wants to watch is welcome to come out.

I've lost almost all interest in modifying cars, from when I used to have a Mazda RX-7 Turbo a couple years ago, but I still enjoy driving in a spirited manner. I guess at 25, I decided that I'd rather have my fun on a bicycle, with its lesser risks and investment.

But now I want to sink every single dime that I make in the next several years into buying one of these.

God, I love Porsches. Someday, when I get through this graduate school business and make more than 22K a year, I will own a vintage 911. It's a life goal of mine - like how some guys want to climb Mt. Everest, I just want to own a Carrera or god forbid, a 930 in Guards Red.

How did you do? Need new tires? :D
Ever drive one of those?

Requires intense concentration.....a real drivers car.

That Carrera is for sale, but it is a complete track car. 5 point harnesses and straps for door handles. The owner was the best driver out today. Talk about threshold driving... he pushed that car to the very limits.. If anyone is really interested, he is asking high twentys for it. Definitely, a really fun ride, but my fav was the 996 Turbo AWD... GD it was fast, tweaked to push 500hp and would stop like you hit a wall.

I progressed very well throughout the day as I got smoother and faster. Only had one spin out and that was during a "relaxed" lunch session where I purposely tried to carry a 2nd gear drift a bit too far in the M roadster. I wasn't trying for speed, I just wanted to see how long I could keep the rear end out and bring it back... I just didn't do the bring it back part  As far as the tires, let's just say they have a few more heat cycles in them now. :)

I attached some more pics.... Cobra porn :)

It has a ridiculously overpowered motor in it, and it was virgin immaculate. I am not a fan of the color but the engine bay was literally spotless at the beginning of the session. Unfortunately it broke the drive shaft (no surprise with all that power on tap) at the end of the morning session. I never did get a ride, but everyone that did said that with anything more than a little throttle and it got VERY twitchy.. Makes driving a 911 seem easy.

I didn't ride in the blue 575 but I did ride in the black one.... 18 year old kid driving:eek:

Thankfully the traction contol and ABS worked very well... twice I seriously wondered how bad it was going to end and it straightened itself out nicely. The 575 is an amazingly engineered vehicle that says go ahead do you worst... I will take care of you. The V12 pulls like a train.

edited double post...

The guy with the Mongrel burgandy/purple 1969 911S is currently working on a build of an actual RSR. He was the #2 best driver out there today. The guy in the Turbo was a close 3rd. Those Porsche guys definitely get their track time and practice in.

Just so you feel bad for the guy with the Turbo, he also has a 360 spyder that is for sale, because he already ordered the new F430. Decisions, decisions.....

I love the look of Ferraris...any of them. The Countach is dated and gaudy to me although I would love to drive it. I doubt I will ever get to drive something that nice. You must be living right.
