Roermond, Netherlands - The Col du Grand St. Bernard of 2.469 meters and the Col du Petit St. Bernard of 2.188 meters. Two big cols that Alberto Contador and his competitors are climbing in the 16th stage of the Tour de France.
Fortunately, it's not only for professionals. It's also for enthusiastic cyclists who want to challenge themselves and want to beat the famous mountain passes in "Les Dix Alpes". A bike expedition with ten hors category cols through the French, Swiss and Italian Alps. Nine giants above the 2.000 meter plus the climb to the legendary ski resort l'Alpe d'Huez.
The first edition of "Les Dix Alpes" starts Monday, June 21st, 2010 at the shores of Lake Como in Italy, and the finish is at the waving palms on the boulevard in Nice. The intervening 1.100 kilometers are divided into ten challenging stages and two rest days.
The tour is organized by Bike Dreams, known from the bicycle expeditions "Paris-Dakar by Bike", "The Andes Trail" and "La Bella Italia".
