Seeing as you don't like anything mentioned so far, I'd say you're out of luck. Maybe someone else knows of another option.

Thumb shifters are great. But Paul thumbies with barcons are going to set you back between $125 and $150 once you buy all the parts.

OTH, If price is your problem try some Microshift brifters. They're less than half the cost of Shimano and completely compatible.

They range anywhere from $140 to $300. The Nashbar versions work well. I'd do a Google search and read the reviews.
