Speaking strictly aesthetically what carbon forks look best on a steel frame? If the frame is made from 853 OS tubing and has a 1+1/8" headtube what forks have shapes that lend themselves well to smaller (not super small though) round diameter tubes?
Frith,
Sorry for the cheap plug, but I've got a used Look HSC3 fork 'round here that I'm parting with. It needs to go and I think the looks (no pun intended) will be right. The blades are thick, but not too much, and the shape is elegant. Plus, the crown thins down to a pretty small diameter (even for a fork built for conventionnal headsets), it would match a steel frame nicely.
PM me if interested. I've joined a pic of the actual fork.
The problem is most skinny tubed steel bikes look worse with a big fat carbon fork. If the bike has fat steel tubes, then a fat carbon fork looks good. I don't know where the skinny carbon forks are, or even if they exist or not.
