54-56 cm anything smaller looks like a kid's bike and anything larger looks like a circus prop

55 or 56, quill stem, traditional geometry.

I thought sloping frames were cool when they first came out but that wore off pretty quickly and now a long seat post looks fugly to me. Same with seat masts.

It's fine if you are a midget or a dwarf.

I prefer a "Big Boy" frame.

Back your claims up with pictures. Show the size you think is best, and the next smaller and larger frame.

56, which is so obvious I feel no need to back it up.

Agreed. And I think it's the most common frame size used in bike pic advertisement?

Yeah, 55- 56cm, somewhere in there.
Purely from an aesthetic standpoint.

I hear you... but when I see those ads for Zinn's bikes- ugh... There may be a limit to what is aesthetically beautiful.

When you get a frame larger than a 64, it's just as bad.
Small frames are for evil midgets
Extra large frames are for evil giants.

It's like the three bears.

Just right.

I agree. Orange can fix a lot, and make even average bikes go faster. But not a 64 cm frame. At that size, gunmetal gray is about as bright as you would want to go.
