You beet me to it.bigbill said:On May 7-8 of 2007, I flew from Honolulu to Sardinia, Italy. I left Honolulu and flew to SF for the first leg so that would be around 3200 miles and 33,000 feet of climbing. Then I flew to Chicago so an additional 2000 miles and another 30,000 feet or so of climbing. From Chicago I flew to Rome so thats 7000 miles and another 30,000 feet. From Rome I flew to Olbia, Sardinia which is only around 200 miles and 10k of climbing. So my total for the week was around 14,400 miles and 103,000 feet of climbing.
Later this summer I will fly from Seattle to Manama, Bahrain. That may be a new personal best.
Is there really 5,000' of climbing at STP? I'm doing it this year and I was under the assumption that there was very little climbing.bigbill said:Oh, we're talking about cycling, I thought this was the lounge.
202.5 miles, 4995 feet of climbing. In one day with an average of 19.8 mph. STP 2008.
365 miles for the week with 17,247 feet of climbing.
I believe that it's 5000 over the course of the whole ride of which is mostly comprised of rolling hills. I keep on hearing of this hill near Spanaway that puts the hurt onto the one day riders. I plan on doing the one day ride and this will be my first time doing STP; so it should be interesting to find out.bmxhacksaw said:Is there really 5,000' of climbing at STP?
