Just bought a used frame but seller didn't know the year of this frame. Anyway, probably it's from 1999 - 2002 or so. The paintjob is similar to this: https://www.roadbikereview.com/cat/frames-and-forks/frames/gt-bicycles-inc/PRD_129802_2493crx.aspx and identical to this: https://www.sterba-kola.cz/media/clanky/GT/gt100404/big/gt5.jpg
The main difference seems to be that some bikes were made of Easton Taperwall 6061-T6 Aluminum but mine has a sticker on the seattube that says it's "butted 7000 series aluminium". Therefore it's also much heavier than stated in the reviews of this frame here on roadbikereview.com (56 cm frame 2.9 lbs, my 58 cm frame is about 3.94 lbs (1,79 kg)). One more bit of information: I also got a fork with this frame. This fork is made of carbon (incl steerer tube) and also GT branded.

So I'd be very thankful if anybody could tell the year of this frame. Also, if anyone can tell what type of headsets fit to this frame, would be nice also but I can get that information from my LBS anyway.

I'm in the same boat, although i note you posted 4 years ago. How'd did you go finding out the info you were seeking?
I'm googling like mad and nobody mentions the 7000 series anywhere, just the 2001 GT racing team 1.0 that had Dura Ace fitout... unfortunately the one i'm looking at has only Sora gearing... Sounds a little dodgy to me for a 1.0 labelled bike.

I hope he has email reminders, because you just asked a question of dead man.
