I have a question which may sound stupid: Assuming there is a flat race circuit with windy conditions, which would be the better wheelset to use: 46mm, 58mm or 88mm rim depth?
I am heavy rider and can ride a disc wheel in strong wind conditions with no issues. Hence, handling is not an issue.
I would like to know whether a deeper rim depth would be more aerodynamic in a circular racing circuit with strong winds.
Some say that it depends on wind direction and altitude terrain...so assuming it is a circular lap and totally flat. If hills were to be factored in then a lower profile would be better due to weight.
Looking forward to any technical answers. Thanks.
