Add vodka? Sounds like a plan.





Limoncello:

in an airtight container combine 1 bottle (750 floz) vodka, the peels (no pith) of 4-5 large lemons. Let that sit for 4-5 days at room temp. On the last day make a simple syrup combining 1cp water with 1 1/2 cp sugar over low heat until sugar is disoved and syrup is nice and clear. poor into the vodka/lemon mixture, mix, the strain. Bottle and chill

I doubled it though. Taking one bottle to the Family reunion next week and the other for a house warming gift for my lady friend.

Oh, and on a side note.. see the little handle on the errr.. petcock thing. Yeah, just because it is perpendicular to the flow of liquid, doesn't mean that that is the closed position. I mean, really, its a two way valve, shouldn't that be the "off" position?

I make mine with grain alcohol and it takes a lot longer...a slightly modified version of bikeboy's recipe.

Good stuff, though. :thumbsup:
