kind of strange to have a "sprinter" still leading this far in...

are the sprinters finally catching up to the non doped climbers??

you should have a look at Kirchen's palmares before calling him a sprinter. He beat Evans and Cunego to win Flèche Wallonne last year (profile looks like a saw), and came in 7th at the Tour last year. He could be in yellow for a while.

There's also been more involvement of the climbers, GC guys in the first week than in previous tours by design from the organizers, who avoided a lot of traditional flat sprinter stages this year.

"Where are the climbers?" Where are the mountains? Give it until Monday and all will be right in the world.
Exactly. While Cadel may be a boring rider, I think he's the smartest of the yellow jersey contenders. Or at least riding the smartest. Always quietly finishing in the right group and using as little energy as possible.

Kind of an ironic question from the OP considering that actual yellow jersey contenders have worn the jersey most of the week.

3 of them -- Contador, Leipheimer and Kloden -- are watching TV.

Lance Armstrong should have come to the Tour just for the Polka dot jersey this time for a change. He could have kicked everyone's ass.
If he did that, he'd be in yellow too.

But, he's not been riding so that's a different story altogether.

Kirchen is good and I really hope he does well. It's nice seeing someone like him holding onto the jersey and still having a good shot so far.
