Don't know the Thule, but I've had both a Yakima and Rhode Gear (came with the truck), and they were equally excellent.
Form the habit of checking the spare tire mount for cracks occasionally. I never had any trouble, but I know two people who trashed bikes when the whole freaking tire came off and went bounding down the freeway with the bike attached.
I have the 963 on the back of my CRV. It is good for the road bikes but because the Spare is mounted off center it leaves one Mountain bike hanging way outside when driving. I have to be really careful how close I get the passenger side of the car to stuff when carrying 2 mountain bikes. If your spare is center mounted it should be a great choice for you.
