BikePals:
I am replacing my SRAM 10 speed chain, chain rings, and cassette for wear. It is time. So, I have a new SRAM 1071 chain which comes with the SRAM quick link. Apparently they are not reusable (although to be frank I have reused them before). Looking online there appear to be a number of reusable links from KMC, Wipperman etc. What do folks like?

Well, I have reused them before without a problem, but they are sure a pain to undo! The Wippermann one looks quite good. SRAM claims you are not supposed to reuse their master link on the 10 speed chain.

I use KMC, but I can tell you they do get easier to close/open over time. I use the Park tool which makes it pretty quick both ways.

I just broke a relatively new 10 speed KMC link today. The flange broke off the end of one of the pins and the chain separated. Luckily it was near the end of the ride and I didn't fall. First time I've broken of these. I'm carrying a spare from now on. If I break another I'll switch to Wipperman Connex.
