I have a Suntour Superbe Pro wheelset that I use in the winter and on the rollers. Yes, it is 7sp FW, but it works perfectly with a Campy 8sp drivetrain. Over the years, I have had to replace the rear axle and cartridge bearings.

A Wheels MFG #03 axle works well and the sealed bearings are 6001RS, 12mm x 28mm x 8mm. Seems there is a never ending variety of these cartridge bearings. Does it matter which brand I use or are there some I should consider more than others?

This article explains it pretty well. I'd want to get Grade 25, as long as they're well lubricated and stay clean they should last years.

Trust Phil Wood bearings. They offer many common sizes, and the fully pack their bearings with grease. Most OEM bearings have very little grease in them.
