I'm seeing Troy pop up A LOT when it comes to wheel building ... can someone clue me in? I may be interested in getting a wheel or set, could someone point me in the right direction?

The design dates back long before any of us have done it. There were some old Ford Model T wheels with that pattern. It's one good way to lace a wheel when the rim has to be offset from the flanges.

I wouldn't ever deal with this guy ever again. If you do, do not pay him upfront cause your going to regret it when the wheels are way late and he won't answer calls and e-mail.

We're only getting his side of the story and its not fair for Troy or any accomplished and respected builder to suffer the repeated bashings such as those spewed by Mashmaniac.

It's unfortunate that his experience was unsatisfactory, but Troy has many, many satisfied customers. Mashmaniac has registered his dissatisfaction. Now can you shut him up?

He has admittedly had some problems lately which he says he wants to make better but if threads like this didn't come out folks would still be having problems.

I gotta agree. This rant has been only 1 customer and the guy seems to run a decent business and has a good rep on this board.
