Put the finishing touches on my wife's Surly last night. I still need to order a VeloOrange stem and seatpost for it (she needs a shorter stem and that Kalloy post is fugly). And need to peel off the Surly decals, except for the head badge. Other than that, she's ready to roll. If the storm hitting Denver isn't too bad over the weekend, I hope to get a little shake-down ride in with her on Sunday.

I built it 90% off the net, with some used parts. Came in just under $1,100 all told. A much nicer build than a stock CrossCheck in my opinion (obviously) and for slightly less bux with the avoided tax. Plus I got the fun of building it myself.

FSA Pig Headset
UnNamed Stem

I didn't either...but indulging the wife's bike-lust means I get to indulge mine three-fold :D
Good looking build. I have one in Misty Mtn Gray...I ride it more than any of my other bikes. Aside from the obligatory Brooks B17 and having my wheels built to my spec, it is pretty much stock...just added racks, PB SF's, Ortlieb HB bag, with the Ortlieb packer series of panniers and she is ready to tour.
