Yes, i always follow the tour its the second best time in the cycling year (flanders classics 1st). Plus my babies due in about week two so i can do the night shift and watch le tour.
I will be tuned in for each stage. As far as problems are concerned, virtually every year there are problems with the Tour. In some strange way, the controversies are part of the on-going appeal of the Tour story.
I will DVR each stage. FF through the flat stages to see the sprint finishes. Looking forward for the MTN stages, usually watch those without FFing. Word to those DVRing the stages. If your new to the DVR make sure you rec past the end time. If its scheduled to end at 1130 am, rec to 1230. One of the stages went over, I watched 2:30 of racing to miss the last 10 min and finish.

DVR the live morning show and watch it as soon as I get home!
I prefer the commentary from Phil and Paul. I like Bobke also, but Al is not my favorite, and in the past they have paired those two up. (To give Al his due, he does seem to have learned a lot about cycling since he first started. That first year was painfull!! :mad2: )
I am looking forward to the sprints, the mountains, and the time trials. Different specialists, different fun.
The Tour is an annual must watch. Who cares about the UCI? The ASO has run the tour for over 100 years and on balance they have done a good of it.
The UCI is how old? All they seem to do is f#$@K up cycling with their inaction on drug, the desire to rule the world with the pro-tour crap (it could have been good - instead it is a joke) and I could go on.
Here is my philosophy about it all - Forget about the politics, treat the drugs as a spectacle, but never forgive the dopers (ie f#$#K Astana, Landis, LA and the rest they deserve our condemnation). In the end remember it is just cycling so enjoy the racing the rest is a distraction.
I second that.
I don't care much about Festana either. It's not so much the riders. It's JB I can't stand.
Remember back in 2006 when the entire podium from 2005 didn't start?
Was it still an exciting race?
Sure, it might be the most exciting in years. On paper there are several contenders, including several which have shown good form and are not afraid to attack.
Someone's going to want to make a mark as the next big GT rider.
It's a must watch for me...I'll be tuned in in the morning before work...and catch what I missed in the evening's repeat coverage.
Controversy many times is good for a sport because it brings in fringe viewers to see what all the fuss is about. Personally...I could care less about the controversy but hope it brings new viewers for more cycling coverage in the future.

OF Course I'll watch.... DVR the entire thing... Even Bob Roll's cheese...
let the organizing groups keep *****in' (UCI vs. ASO, blah blah blah)
Eventually, I hope they realize that it's a bike race...
and not some politically charged platform to spout their B.S.
Besides, I have a signed BIG GEORGE Disco Jersey from the year he won his Tour Stage that must get worn during the tour... I hope he wins another stage this year.
I'll be watching, it could be very competitive this year now that Contador is out of the race. I don't think he would have had much trouble repeating had Astana been allowed to race and that could have taken a lot of the suspense out of it.
