Long term mountain biker here.
I built my first rode bike over the winter. Took it for a first ride today, about 10-miles. Also my first ride with clipless pedals. It seemed to ride ok, shifts were very smooth and the ride was not as harsh as I thought, even with the terrible conditions of the roads around here. Still needs small adjustments to get the fit right. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Looks good and welcome to the road my friend.
Only thing I would change is to raise your shifters back up the bar about an inch. The riding position looks off (too low), but all that matters is that you feel comfortable with it.

+1 on those shifters- move those up so you get a level ramp from the bars to the shifters.

Otherwise, it's all personal preference- figure someone will tell you yer stem's to high.

Nice looking bike- welcome to the road!

Thanks for the tip on the shifters. I did notice reaching for the hoods felt like a stretch. The stem will probably be lowered as I get use to the bike.
