I am building up a CX bike. Main usage will be as a winter training bike (can run wider tires) and some light singletrack duty. Will not be racing CX, don't do a lot of muddy riding. The frame I am building up utilizes a BB30 BB. I can go down two paths. One, press in FSA threaded adapter and run the external cup CX power-torque cranks. They are designed with heavier duty seals. Otion two, is to press in ultra-torque BB30 cups and run a Chorus compact chainset. Leaning toward option 1 as the better seals may come in handy riding in less than ideal winter conditions, but not 100% sold on the press fit adapter and threaded BB. Thank you in advance for sharing any thoughts!!
