Vaughters can only talk about the 1999 USPS team.
Dave on the other hand may be in a position to corroborate some of Landis' stories. In particular the fake mechanical bus problems where everyone would get fresh transfusions. The only question is, will he? If he does will he get suspended by the UCI?

I think USA cycling would actually do the suspending. It will be interesting to see how willing they are to give amnesty, given that people say that Johnson is basically a Weisel/Armstrong appointee.

I believe the UCI could appeal what ever USA cycling decides to do with someone who cooperates in exchange for a reduced or no suspension. Historically the UCI has not been in favor of "cutting deals", since they don't want anyone airing the dirty laundry of cycling.

Looking more like Zabriskie and possibly Vaughters will cooperate.

"We will cooperate with investigation"
which team is saying they will NOT cooperate? I am sure Radioshack and BMC guys will say the same thing. All criminal suspects say the same thing too. Whether they actually do or not is a different story.

"We will stand by our riders".
This is interesting, considering that Allen Lim was working with them just last year. So if they find out that the riders were getting blood transfusion just last year, while on their team, they will "stand by" them? I still think Vaughters is trying to have it both ways - if he will say that it's ok to keep Matt White, Zabriskie and perhaps others who, let's assume, admit to doping, but never served time for it - while complaining about other riders (they do not belong in peloton, according to Vaughters) who did serve their time. Like Vino.

A lot of drama to come for sure.

That's a pretty generic press release that is more about restating the Garmin mission than it is indicative of things to come.

Considering that there is practically zero chance of him getting busted for past crimes, I cannot see what incentive there is for Zabriskie to come forward now. Even if they give him immunity, he still has a reputation and some very good racing results to protect.

Exactly. Their quote, "We cannot change what happened in the past. But we believe it is time for transparency," works much better for PR purposes than, "We cannot change what happened in the past. But we believe it is time for continued complete opacity."

A get out jail free card is only meaningful if you are in jail, or you have a pretty good idea you could end up there. Without physical evidence or a corroborating witness, I don't see that as being the case for anyone Landis named.

Without physical evidence it is only hearsay. I predict that no heads will roll as a result of Landis' statement. Besides, I cannot foresee the suspension of the entire Pro Peloton. The best that can come of it is an enlightened approach to pro cycling and a responsible application of PED. Trying to pretend that there is no doping in cycling only is fooling the naive and the novice. Just see how Floyd Landis' confession has publicly embarrassed the UCI and WADA, not to mention LA, JB, et al. Lance was so upset that he fell off his bike!

Ok, that wasn't really literal. It means if he does provide information that is useful to authorities (thus exposing his own association with doping), his lawyers will likely use this a leverage to reduce or eliminate any charges he may be subject to.
