Recent review in the TOUR magazin shows that aerodinamically Ultimates are crap (in anything but direct headwind crosswinds they are no much better then AM-420).
Bora were not subject of this test.
Crap? They are better than avg for their rim depth. As I said before, the Bora G3 tested the same in an earlier year. Though I don't know how big the error bars should be on Tour's tests, as far as we know their aero performance is identical.

Yes the AC420 was only a little bit worse... which makes me think that Nio30 rims would do pretty well also.

From all deep-section rims Lightweits are the least aero. They are an par with DA-7800 (not deep section!) wheels according to TOUR tests from the last year.
And yes, rim shape is not less important then rim depth, especially in crosswinds.
And, yes, ZIPP-808 are almos as aero as disks. Another wheelset that do not lose aero advntage in the crosswinds is Citec-6000 cx (www.citec.de) and it is only 49mm deep and about half of the ZIPP-808 price.

according to this test, generally, the deeper the rim the more aero...

although i am aware that not all deep rims are equally areo, the 808 rim is the most aero because of its lens shape.

i think the mavics are ugly so i'd plump for the boras. personally i have gone for lightweights

i didnt order my lightweights because they are aero but because they are the lightest strong wheels out there (none broken except in crashes apparently) - my aero wheels are 02 shamals which were suposedly the most areo wheels you could buy 5 years ago and i believe have only been bettered by zipps' more recent creations.

the other reason i went for lightweights is the way they look. i use the analogy that if you had to choose between the good looking ferrari and the slightly faster but ugly ferrari you would still choose the beautiul one because feeling good is the best perfrmance enhancer there is...

i think maverick should remember that whilst having the lovely warm feeling of choosing which $4-5,000 set of wheels to buy.
