hi guys..
i've looked high and low for a full carbon racing tubular for the past couple of months, and have finally narrowed down the options to Bora Ultra or the Cosmic Carbone Ultimate..
and having a dilemma as both of these are great wheelsets..
Specs:
Bora Ultra: 52mm depth, weight: 1280gms
Carbone Ultimate: 40mm depth, weigh: 1185gms
i weight approx 130lbs and enjoy climbs and occasional sprints/breakaways. looking for something stiff and aero specifically for race purpose.
did a few research and found that the Carbone Ultimate front carbon spokes are in fact bonded direct onto the 12k carbon rims. which means in the event of a broken spoke, it'll be a disaster:cryin:
as for the Bora Ultra, it's old world technology (radial bearings, alu spokes) without the bling of the Carbone Ultimate. tried and tested, and reliable nevertheless
should i bear the pain and take the plunge and get the Carbone Ultimate or should i simply stick to something serviceable and get the Bora Ultra..
?
any feedback is welcome..
cheers and ride safe.
