wrist clearance...

I don't race, so sprinting isn't something I do much, but short reach bars like my new EC90 SLX3 bars take care of that problem. Easton's previous solution was an angled bend behind the brake hoods, which left little room for the heel of your hand. Never did like that bend and they tried it on two different models, years apart.

There really is a lure to lowering your handlebars because it looks "pro". My advice is - Don't. On a stock bike, racing road races and crits or just doing fast group rides, it's not going to make a hill'o beans difference if you've got a 1 cm drop or a 10 cm drop. There are some real negatives to having too much drop, such as it can aggravate neck issues (I know this one all too well) and it also tends to diminish your bike handling.

The right drop for you is a factor of a few things, i.e. your leg and torso length (taller riders tend to be comfortable with more drop than shorter riders for instance), your flexibility, and your core strength. It might help to get a fitting done to improve your overall riding position so that you get that balance of optimal power output and still being comfortable and relaxed enough to do the long rides without negative effects.
