wow that thing is in nice shape! looks like it was never ridden in the big ring. as you know it came from bikecology, which became supergo, which was bought and closed by performance. never heard of that brand, but it could very well be a bikecology house brand... they did that in the 80s. I bought a blue one from that same store in ~1987, "supergo" branded though. mine was 105 and 7-spd IIRC, so that 6-spd and "flying" brake cables tell me it may be a little older. actually the sticker says "made in Japan FOR bikecology" so odds are pretty good that it's a bikecology house brand. IIWM I'd ditch the computer and all those nasty cables

Noticed the "made for" part after you posted it. The cables are unsightly, but the frame looks great. If it's a good fit and rides well, I may put modern components on it. Do you think it's a good deal for the price?

The owner of Bikecology (then Supergo) seemed to like those phony Italian sounding names - think "Scattante."

In the mid-80's he used that name for his housebrand imported steel road bikes. I remember because it was right around that time (1985 to be exact) that I bought a Bob Jackson 753 frameset from the store on Wilshire in Santa Monica. They had "Sintesi's" then.

Probably made by Panasonic or Bridgestone.

Thanks for the input. Not sure whether I'd keep it and build it up the way I want, or sell it off. Might repaint it and badge it something else just for the fun of it! I have some Dura Ace brifters, might add a rear Ultegra derailleur, 105 casette, and Neuvation wheel (budget limited is why) and sell my current cheapo bike.

Closest I could find - 1987 model that was converted to a fixie. Guess it's the same, as it looks like it. http://outforaride.com/bicycles/56/Sintesi+Marina+Conversion Other than that, Google doesn't give anything else. Trying to find out who made it out of curiousity. Guess I'm just excited - paid for it a few hours ago, so won't get it for over a week probably.
