Cateye came out with a bad batch of Cordless 7s in the past year. If you bought it at your LBS you can take it back and they should replace the sending unit that attaches to fork. I had two of mine go bad this year and the shop gave me replacement sending units (not the computer part) and they work fine now. You can contact Cateye directly as well, but your shop should cover it for you. Didn't cost me a dime and I still love these computers.....
Thanks, I called Cateye this morning and their Customer Service Rep told me that a new sending unit will be mailed out today. They had bad production batch last year that involved only the sending unit and not the computer.

Just contact Cateye at 800.522.8393.

Thanks Broomwagon! I know your post was back in 2004, but after a long hiatus (ugly divorce) I've picked up cycling again only to find my Cateye Cordless 7 not working. Fresh batteries, checked all the line of sight/distance issues, was about to give up, then decided to give good 'ol Google.com a try. A quick search brought me here to this site and post, I called Cateye at the number you provided, and even 5+ years after I bought my unit, they are sending me a replacement for the transmitter. Talk about customer service, I have to give Cateye credit, they back their products! I registered here just to let you know how thankful I am, if you even still read this. You just saved me another $50+ on a new computer!

I thought everybody already knew that Cateye will replace the transmitter! Last year not only did they do that but they sent me a brand new unit....Cateye micro....Outstanding service with a phone call....I am running cateye on all my bikes now as the others die away!

Excuse my ignorance, but I’m looking at the box that my Cat Eye Micro Wireless came in and I don’t see the model number. Under the name in smaller words, it says, Cyclocomputer and CC-MC100W.

My bad Y'all, just saw the cat Eye 7 on a website and I have a different model...

Peace
