I have a Trek 1100 from 1987. I like it and want to build up a light fast road bike without spending big money. Where can I find specs on it, weight, wheel base etc for use in comparing it with other frames. I can upgrade components and wheels if the weight etc is ballpark but I need numbers.

My friend.
You'll spend FAR more money building up a frame than you will buying a complete bike new. Usually the only time it becomes somewhat reasonable to build a frameset is if it is a custom, or if the frame has sentimental or historic value.
