Does anyone know the first year Shimano started using 9-speed on their 105 triple group? I am trying to figure out the cassette and chainring range of the Shimano 105 group that was on my 1999 Klein Quantum so I can calculate what I need for a new bike with a 10 speed Shimano or Campy drivetrain. Still deciding between compact, double, and triple too. Thanks

DA 9 for 97 model year, and the rest of the lineup in 98. Duno what that has to with what you are trying to figure out,but good luck with it anyway.Triple cranks were 52/42/30 and casette could vary with manufaacturer, but a 2000 Klein 105 triple used a 12x25

Thanks for the response. My Klein Quantum was a 1999 and I know the biggest cog in the rear was a 26.
