Hi,

I'm installing some new Dura Ace 7700 levers on my bike and am at the point of installing the shift cables/wires. The diagrams that came with the levers are not real helpful. :mad2:

Can anyone explain in detail how to properly install the cables. I can't tell by looking inside the levers with the plastic cap off what I should see if the cable is installed properly.

Anyone aware of a good site on-line with good pictures or large diagrams?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks, Scott

It is really pretty straight forward. Before you intall the cable, click the small lever 10 times and for good measure, click it another 10 times. This will make sure the shifters are in the proper position for the cable. Press on the brake lever to expose the hole for the shift cable and install the cable from the outside. Slide the housing on from the other side and you are good to go,.

Thanks, Dave. The instructions make it sound more difficult than it must be. I assume that after I click the small lever 10 or 20 times, I install the cable from the outside, push it through the hole, and pull on it until it feels like it's locked inside/won't pull any further into the lever?
