Hello all, new member here. Well about 2 years ago I started bike commuting and I've been hooked on bikes ever since. This is my baby Gia, here's the specs..let me know what you think!

What's stock/original on the bike: 1993 Giant Kronos with a 56cm frame chromoly steel material, Shimano Exage 400EX front and rear derailleur...it's a 14 speed with a 7 cog cassette in the back and two chainwheels in the front,Exage brake levers + downtube shifters, Exage front wheel, Sakae Modolo dropdown bars, original seat post, chromoly steel fork.

What I've added: Origin 8 flat pedal w/pins, 110mm 50/34T FSA Gossamer crankset, Shimano 105 back wheel, hardcase Bontrager RL all-weather tires, Tektro R539 brakes, Giant saddle, Bontrager RL cage, and Bontrager gel bar tape to boot.

Nice bike.

I got one of those too but I am unsure of the model year mine is as I bought it used a couple of years ago. It was my first road bike purchase ever after many years of not owning a bike since I was a teen. The "Kronos" logos on mine a quite different.

I think mine is a '98 though and has Shimano Exage Action components on there but for some reason there is a 6 speed freewheel on there so the shifting kind of sucks for 3 of out of the 6 gears (the specs say this is 8 speed compatible). I'll just probably find a cheap set of wheels and put a 8 speed MTB cassette on there and readjust the derailluers someday since mine has the 130mm rear axle spacing.

It is collecting dust now as I have some fancy carbon rigs in the stable and I was keeping it in hopes of commuting some day but I kind of am too lazy for that. Also dealing with morning commuters in my car is stressful enough without the added element of possibly getting hit cageless.

Thanks man, I love my bike and take a bit of pride in it.
I'm 18, live in the burbs and am thinking about moving out to either Portland, Oregon or Longmont/Boulder, CO where it's more bike friendly and practical to commute solely by bike and not drive.

Thats strange that yours is a six cog in the back, and I think going with the 8 that you were talking about skype be a good idea for sure.

I cross-referenced bikepedia and Google images links to determine the year of mine.
I'm contemplating getting 2013 Madone 2.1 next spring/summer to get my foot into the road racing scene.
*Also*You should totally brush your bike off and start commuting! Look up local traffic laws and such before ya do so of course. Really dependable bike; you should post some pics of your Kronos when you get a chance.
