1994 Trek 2200. One of the few times Trek had the courage to offer a bike with Campy. i ordered it when I heard the news. This has been my machine for the last 14 years. This bike is older than some of my children. I find it ironic that after I put cash down for its replacement, LeMond Versailles, that I noticed the white bubbling at both ends of the seat tube. These white marks are under the clearcoat and are growing. I've seen another 2200 same year at the shop being stripped of its Veloce grouppo for similar issues with the seat tube.

So, what Has Trek been giving out for replacements these days? I talked to a woman last year that had the same bike and with the same issues and she received a Madone frame.

From what I have seen at my LBS, both Trek and Specialized tend to replace warranty frames with what they have overstock at the moment. I've seen some people get some pretty cool deals.

Hey... that's a neat strategy. I'm going to troll ebay looking for old beat up CF frames that I can warranty... then when I get the replacements, I'll sell 'em and buy a nice steel frame.

You need to show proof of ORGINAL OWNERSHIP.

I had one that came apart at the bb seat tube lug after 4-5 years of use, but is the bubbling actually the issue?? I had a few clearcoat bubbles here and there, but there actually weren't any where the frame came apart. Is this is a sign of galvanic corrosion or an entire seperate issue? Anyway, this was in 1999 or 2000 right after Trek had stopped producing "screw and glue" frames. They didn't even ask for the receipt (although the shop manager may have remembered my prior purchase) and honored the warrantee with a 1999 OCLV, even included a threadless fork instead of threaded, which they probably still had in stock at the time.
