28 hole rear wheel lacing

Thanks dcgriz--

3-cross 28 hole for the rear is the most tangential, and in 28 hole I don't believe it's past tangential. Any reason *not* to do it? (I don't care about a few grams of extra weight or aesthetics for this build. I want tough and stiff for all-around duty.)
Tough and stiff have more to do with type/number of spokes, hub geometry and rim size than spoke lacing patterns. IMO, no real reason not to do x3 other than aesthetics if you dont like the way the pattern looks compared to a x2.
